Subjective Question:
A few years ago, people only used dial-up connection as the only option to access Internet but now there are modern alternatives to connect internet faster and easier. List down and explain at least three modern alternatives which are used these days.
Answer:
At the present time, millions of users connect internet via digital subscriber line (DSL), cable modems and so on. All these modern alternatives are often called broadband connections. The most common broadband alternatives are cable modem, satellite and wireless broadband connections. Cable modem connections allow Internet connections through the same network of coaxial cables that deliver television signals to millions of homes. Cable modems speeds often exceed DSL speeds both downstream and upstream. Some cable TV companies offer high-speed Internet connections through these modems.
The second alternative is satellite connections which is available through many of the same satellite dishes that provide television channels to viewers. Some newer services use satellites for upstream and downstream traffic. The upstream traffic goes through phone lines at standard modem rates. Satellite also provides high-speed Internet access options for many homes and business.
The third broadband technology is wireless connections in where the students can connect to the Internet in their wireless-equipped campus. The travellers can make Web connections while waiting in airports. The coffee shops also can become Internet cafes for people with wireless receivers in their laptops.
Triumphs of The Nerds II
In this second part of the movie, it is talking about “Riding the Bear”.It is the following part of PC renovation. The film enlightened the introduction of the personal computer and explicate why the Microsoft become the major company to produce the world’s most widely use Operating System (OS). Originally, operating systems is used as a way to handle one of the most complex inputs or output operations.
The IBM planned to enter the growing PC market and decide to used “Open Architecture” to arise with a personal computer within a year. Later on, IBM went for Microsoft which bought operating system from an obscure small company and achieve success in the end. This history only stands for 1 year where a few problems occurred. The IBM lost in the PC market and creates the OS2 to overcome the clone issue. But soon, a disagreement happened between IBM and Microsoft and they disintegrate.
At last, the IBM become a mainframe producing company while Microsoft used $50000 dollars to bought OS from a small company has ascended to the highest in the end.
Triumphs of The Nerds I
This first film review is “Triumph of the Nerds: Impressing their friends. This movie is focused on the history of the personal computer (PC), refreshing the personal computer (PC) revolution. As all of us know, it is an outstanding tool for enhancing productivity, creativity, or communication. The early computers are not suitable as it were big and bulky. Not only that, it necessarily needs a good attention. To make computers work as much with text as with the numbers, the operators need to be trained with many codes. This is to control the PC by using “machine language”.
Shortly after that, a microprocessor was created by the INTEL. They replaced the big transistors and vacuum tubes. In 1975, Ed Roberts introduced the world’s first personal computer (PC) which had enthused the founding of computer clubs such as the “Homework Club”. It was ineffective or useless until a new person brings in “basic” software and the one is Paul Allen. He has a team with Bill Gates.
At the end of 1975, a small number of companies producing micro-computer cropped out though still one of the computer model’s ‘Apple II’ dominated the scene. The Apple II was introduced after the first Apple has some problem. These models have good sales and have profit. Although the Apple II becomes hit but it is only used by hobbyist at that time. To make the PC more useful to people, some software and application was created. The first spread sheet program, VISICALC had been introduced. A lot of PC’s companies grow rapidly which is mainly conquered by Apple.

Uses and implication on blogging
The Internet is still in the embryonic stages of standing on its own characteristics. Communication and content presentation strategies still mirror existing models, particularly newspaper and magazine publishing. Email, for example, is merely an extension of existing mail systems. As such, it is about bending a new medium to an existing process.
Blogging is using a new medium for what it is good for connecting and interacting. Blogging is a first generation tool built on, and taking advantage of, the unique attributes of the Internet. It has been dismissed as a self-centered passing fad and as the new model of interactive journalism, communication, and learning. This article explores the the uses, benefits, implications, and art of blogging.
What is blogging?Blogging is a format constant (archives, links, time stamps, chronological listing of thoughts and links), personalized, community-linked, social, interactive, democratic, new model innovation built on the unique attributes of the Internet.
Uses for bloggingAs an emerging tool, blogging uses have still not been completely explored. Some current uses:
- Knowledge sharing and knowledge management
- Customer service
- Interactive journalism
- Communication
- Self-expression
- Learning
- Self-marketing
- Campaigning/social reform
- Community building
- Experience tracking
- Storytelling
Most common uses for blogging are personal and, considering its origins as a personal web publishing forum. Emerging uses promise opportunities in corporations and education. Further application will also be realized as existing uses (communication, learning, knowledge management, interactive journalism, etc.) are adopted by various industries - notably entertainment, health care, government.
Benefits of blogging are numerous. An overriding benefit is the democratization of information. In classic models, knowledge flow was "stopped" and administered by news sources (paper, magazines, TV). Ideas in keeping with current zeitgeist or political agendas received top billing, while unpopular (though necessary for innovation and social transformation) ideas were ignored.Other benefits include:
- Fostering the fringe - ideas are evaluated based on merit - not on source of origin.
- Filtering - ideas with merit are filtered through various blogs. Significant thoughts or posts receive multiple-links and spread viral-like across the blogosphere.
- Multiple perspectives - one-sided perspectives of newspapers are replaced by passionate debates exploring virtually every facet of an idea or concept.
- Barrier elimination - society is about barriers - actual or unspoken. For example, I don't run in the same circle as Bill Gates - a socio-economic barrier (at the absolute minimum!). In society, this generally means that I do not have the benefit of Mr. Gates' wisdom...blogging, however changes that.
- Free flow - any idea can be expressed...and accessed by any one. The process of blogging separates good ideas from poor ideas. The process itself has built in quality control - try that in traditional media!
- Real time - discussions and interactions happen right NOW. Waiting for tomorrow's newspaper or radio program seems like an eternity compared to real time blogging.
- Links and connections - the complexity of an information heavy society requires specialization. Yet specialization is futile if a process is not created to link specialties. Blogging serves this purpose extremely well. Disparate fields of interest and thought are brought together (and dissected) in the machinations of bloggers.
As a disruptive technology, blogging is altering (or perhaps responding to many aspects of information/content creation and use. These changes are not without impact. What are some of the implications of a tool that functions at the same speed as the medium it serves? Here's a few:
- Content creation and consumption.
- Decentralization of content and distribution.
- The user is in control. The end user (or audience) of a service or product has acquired a central (rather than previous fringe) role.
- Shared meaning and understandings. Knowledge is acquired and shaped as a social process.
- Ideas are presented as the starting point for dialogue, not the ending point.
Conclusion
Blogging has become a trend among youngsters and adults to express their feelings, opinions, suggestions and ideas. This can be considered as the fastest and most convenient way to update themselves to the revolving world. Unfortunately, there are certain people that misuse blogging as a weapon to humiliate or blackmail others. Nevertheless, blogging has been a crucial medium to connect people around the globe.

Should there be a Censorship? Is that good or bad?
The process of censoring through the examination of books, plays, films, television and radio programs, news reports and other materials is to avoid all the objectionable or offensive issue from being known by all the people in particular country. If there is news related to certain religions for example which can cause riot among them need to be censored. This is for the peace and harmony of the world countries. Besides that, this practice is really giving us the safe way to avoid problems such as fighting or even war. By censoring this type of issue, it totally will remain the situation as doing our normal work as usual. Let said that it is not being censored; the citizens will lost their peace forever in their life.
Nowadays, the teenagers are braver and have the strength to voice out their feelings but not in the proper way. Most of them like to post their ideas in internet using all the sensitive words. Of course, this will leave a bad image especially when they talk about the political people or against the government law. According to amendment of law, we all have the freedom of speech with strict conditions. Let said, there are people post their views inapplicable way and it is being found by the technicians in control centre of the country. They will surely block the materials. This is for own good in the future. It is to make sure that we always be in the safe side.
We should always remember that the censorship did not take our freedom. It is actually protecting us by censoring those sensitive topics. The only thing we have to keep in our mind that each action has its own good and bad effect. Surely, we have the natural rights to make use of our pens as of our tongue but use it to make a justifiable argument not the one which dissatisfied others. Many issues are forbidden to be post such as religious matter, political issue or government’s secret. All this materials need to be censored from time to time to make the country in peace and harmony. That is the objective of the censorship.

Arrangement of mp3 file system
the top song in my private folder. In this file system, I can always hear to the song.
Other than that, I will download many upcoming songs from internet and tune on during chatting, sending emails and so on. Honestly, the mp3 file system is quite complex for me although I arranged the songs. Most of the time, I won't really often change my songs. Not only that even the format of my file system is not frequently modified. There is nothing special about my mp3 file sytem but I just love it.

The hazard of high-tech crime and difficulty of keeping data secure
“Hacking” origins from the word “cracking“. This word of this term came because hackers will using the code to crack open fire wall. Hacking is done by someone is trying to break codes and collecting others personal data. The hacking is done by hackers that has different kind of motives such as trying to get others information, for example like breaking the firewall of bank and entering the information of bank’s data to get clients data such as hand phone number, house address and their bank details. This is used to blackmail. This hacking process is done by using c++ and command proms. There is many kind of command methods for hacking used by hackers such as, Vulnerability scanner is used to check the weakness of the serves of banks, personal companies. This allow the hackers to break the firewall and steal their personal and important document, Packet Sniffer captures TCP/IP data packets, which can maliciously be used to capture passwords and other data while it is in transit either within the computer or over the network. The most commonness hacking methods is using Trojan horse a program designed as to seem to being or be doing one thing, such as a legitimate software, but actually being or doing another. They are not necessarily malicious programs but can be. Then is virus and worms is use to hack and crack by hackers. This are the methods is use to hack the banks and personal data and use this data to blackmail and threaten the victims. Those are the way used by hackers to hack data, there must be a way to protect our personal data from being stole, there a many kind of anti-virus, and anti-hacking software use to protect the serves and also stop hackers from stealing our information. This one the of hazard of internet security that we have to look very seriously to protect our personal data for others to know our personal data. This did may lead to more problems such as a big threat to country and for the world, because it will lead us to lost of money and precious time that we can use to development of man kind. This problems need be solve by law and enforcement to stop hackers to rule our world.
In this digitized world where massive amounts of our data can be compromised by a single lost laptop or an individual’s identity can be swiped by an outline phishing expedition, the need for information security is vital. Even more insidious than phishing, pharming redirect traffic to legitimate sites to fake ones, where scammers can harvest username and password. It is truly becoming more and more difficult to protect personal and confidential privacy in this information age. Personal datas are usually sold and published by irresponsible people who breach the terms and conditions of personal privacy to the highest bidder with just a few keystrokes on computer. Many sites casually solicit personal info without fully disclosing their policies and intentions. We fear our personal data may be misused by fraudsters. Personal information like full name and phone numbers are usually leaked by high-tech criminals to credit card and insurance company who seek our service. Fraudsters use email messages and fake customer service phone numbers to lure unsuspecting targets into revealing personal information. Not only that, personal datas like pictures that are posted on websites like Friendster and Facebook are also exposed to threats like modification, destruction and unauthorized use. High tech criminals can access our pictures and use it for other purposes. For instance, the sex scandal of Hong Kong actress and actor, Gillian Chung and Edison Chen became known publicly when the sex pictures and videos of them were regulated in the internet. High-tech crime is so serious that this could bring humiliation and tarnish one’s reputation by just revealing one’s personal life. This could also encourage blackmailing of personal privacy. We should always be careful because the cost of obtaining information may be disclosing personal data .
In those olden days, company’s top trade secret was documented in paper and file form. During that time, company’s top secret would not be leak out easily, unless it is given out by the company’s board. Years by years, as the technology develops rapidly, nowadays most of the companies no longer using paper and file for documentation. Everything, from tiny digits to top sealed secret, is key into the computer. The computer carries every single bit data of a company. Thus, to obtain the secretive information of a company, one does not have to depends to the worker in the company anymore. High-tech criminals just have to break down codes and layers of firewall, and easily the confidential information will drop into their hands. Neither gigantic companies nor small companies are facing the same problem; this worsen until it become a worldwide enigma. No matter how strong is the firewall protection, the always-more-advanced high-tech criminals will have the way to intrude company’s system. Billions and billions of dollars is funded just to keep the secrets safe from the high-tech intruders; laws have been enforced against illegal firewall breaking and the action of pinching one company’s information, but the criminals are hard to be traced, consequently the circumstances could not be cured, and it seems to be worsen. This will not only affects the company’s profit, but it involves the economic change in certain country, or even the world economy. Besides that, the data of customers are hard to be totally protected from the intrusion of high-tech criminals. For example, by using passwords and identifications from legitimate customers, thieves successfully broke into data bases owned by an U.S.A information company, LexisNexis, about 32,000 U.S. citizens’ information was purloined. They use personal information to do all kind of offensive actions, without any notification of the particular owner of information. This shows how large the impact of high-tech crime on individual, nation or even the world.
Nowadays, confidential data of a particular country and military is restricted to the public, especially the opponent country, as they will try to obtain opponent’s secrets, to disturb their unity, peace, harmony and economy value; because of that, the government and military try to protect their important data from being revealed by the others. Both government and military play crucial role in keeping the country’s secret by being known by the others. The military is not only saving us from enemies, but also protecting us by keeping the important data secured. The U.S government defines top secret as “Top secret classified secrets, state secrets privileges, national security and the ability of federal government officials to declare that there are things that Americans citizens should not know, as knowing such things would, undoubtedly, prove detrimental to the ability of government official’s to efficiently control the thought and action of American citizens.” However, those secrets are not fully protected because of the presence of high-tech crimes. For example, three military laptops with secured data missing (from the information Time Online, January 21, 2008), it is very clear that these laptops contains the personal data of 600,000 people. In other country, the government do keep their confidential data secret in their own way. But hackers always have their toes stand in this military field. They are paid by another country to crack through the virtual defence wall of the country, and obtain their confidential secrets. From this, it clearly shows that high-tech crime do happen in high level security zone, until that it involves government and military.
Furthermore, In this globalization era, everything has now been globalize including terrorism. Information technology is at the heart of modern terrorism and it is globalization now. As we use internet to communicate with another person that in another part of earth, it bring them closer. Because of this reason, they can hide their planning or preparation by using information technology. In addition, some of them begin targeting information technology, as well as using IT as a weapon, for example with attacks against critical infrastructures and cyber terrorism. Now, every country in this earth, need to against the terrorism not only with critical infrastructure protection, and also the cyber-conflict. Each country have to protect their own country computer system to avoid the terrorism hack or stole the top secret of their country. So, we risk losing our protection or safety of a country to develop information technology though it bring a lot of benefits to us .terrorism is gone from bomb blasting to cyber terrorism, this way is much more faster and affection to bring down the enemy. This is a big threat to our country it will destroy the world. This did must be stop as soon as possible, this can be done by law and by creating new kind software to stop the terrorism like, anti-terrorism, this can be use to stop the terrorism
